Cover for the Fourth Doctor Comic Strip Adaptations Box Set
The Doctor Who Magazine comics The Iron Legion and The Star Beast have been fan favourites since their releases in 1979 and 1980 respectively. Featuring Tom Baker's Fourth Doctor and an array of weird and wonderful guest characters, they tell stories that would have been of an unthinkable scale for the television series at the time. In 2019, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Doctor Who Magazine's launch, Big Finish productions have adapted these adventures into two full cast audios.
I was thrilled to be asked to produce the covers for the releases, having been a huge fan of the comics for many years. For the release, I provided four covers - one for each story, plus an overall cover for the slipcase, and a bonus disc for special features. The task included bringing to life a number of characters from the comic, and attempting to do justice to designs that have been so loved for 40 years.
